Family Horseback Vacations in Arizona

Diablo Canyon Base Camp is the starting point of our rides, it is located at approx. 9100 feet elevation, allowing us easy access to the wilderness trails and the ability to drive to this camp.
Our guests who come to ride and take photos will have hundreds of miles of mountain trails to ride. Our Base Camp consists of 4 to 6 heavy wall tents. The guest tents are furnished with comfortable cots, wood burning stove and lanterns. There is a separate cook shack for dining and camaraderie, guides tent, shower tent for taking a hot shower after a hard days hunt and outhouse. Imagine, after a long day in the saddle, or hiking you'll come back to camp (maybe a little stiff and saddle sore), and relaxe with a hot shower. then unwind with a great meal prepared by your guide with all the fixings. And for dessert, imagine a "HOT" Dutch Oven cooked apple, peach or maybe even a cherry cobbler!

You'll begin your day at daybreak, or early morning with a hot breakfast, while the horses and mules are being fed and saddled. After breakfast you'll be given a pack lunch to put in your saddlebag and mount up for a day of riding, sightseeing and maybe fishing. We return to base camp each evening for a fabulous meal. Our guests are always welcome to pitch in with camp chores, if you like.
